Great initiative for children to read stories to abandoned animals

On this occasion, to prepare the animals in the shelter for family life, they have developed an initiative that allows them to spend time with the little ones at home. The program called 'The Shelter Buddies Reading Program', consists in that every afternoon children from the surroundings, between 6 and 15 years old, come to the refuge to read a story to the animals so that they can relax after their daily training program .

The director of this program, Jo Klepacki, explained to The Dodo that “what we were looking for was that these abandoned dogs, which are characterized by being shy and fearful, could interact with the outside without feeling forced. Furthermore, children are beginning to understand the cruelty of abandoning a dog. "
